I understand the benefits ..Myself I just got irritated no real animosity..
When I first came on OGF , I posted in both spots for threads for the gorge area..Looking for folks to come together for chapters .. Seems a few folks in the gorge are on OGF .. But no one came back with anything, yea or nay on the posts..
In some face-ons(real life conversations) with OGFers , I found that some are all good with the site but saw no real plus as to setting up a chapter. Many see few benefits, at the time I even asked for someone to come down and talk from this site and others , but no response at all. That did not help in the least...Many folks be they in OGF or not choose not even to participate in any community activities for different reasons. Others do but don't want a club, just community.

You may have to advertise as I do here in Brookings, a litter more locally.
We have a bi-weekly paper with a community BB area which is free. This
would mean you would need a place to meet, but even a pizza parlor, grange, church could work until consistency creates a special motivation for involvement. Volunteer Fire Halls are good too.

Thumbs down Says a Lot Actually

Yes places can be found to have a "meeting". First you need at the minimum of two people wanting even to get together and talk about a chapter, meetings etc... But there has not been one post from anyone out there in the gorge on this site wanting even that.
So I will not bother to post anything more about chapters as it "does say a lot" , the OGFers in the gorge that frequent this site are not interested or don't
want to bother with it.
All good, I won't bother to post about it again.

it's interesting you bumped up this thread as we brought this up at the last BoD meeting..... we are working on revamping the chapter policies and procedures to make it EASIER for chapters to do their own thing in their own way (as long as the OMMP law is followed) and be a part of OGF at the same time... I think there was always sort of a disconnect with what the intent of the policies and procedures were set up to do and how it was interpreted and applied at the chapter level.

please hang in there howlin420, the Gorge is a beautiful place and there is a thriving mmj community there. I travel there often and would love to help you get something going..... maybe start out with non-medicated lunch in a local restaurant?
